Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Another easy recipe to make when you  are having a kids party around. They will surely be a huge hit with the kids. Once you taste it you will never ask for the regular popcorn. You need:
Corn Kernels               1/2cup
Dark Brown Sugar       3/4cup
Oil

Microwave Matta Rice Flakes/ Aval Laddu

Once again laddus in microwave but this time with Matta rice flakes. The matta rice is typically used in kerala cuisine and is typical whole grain, very very healthy especially fo the kids. This is very easy to make within 5 minutes in a microwave. It tasted great and I found an easy way to make jr eat wholegrains without any fuss.

Mixed Sprouts And Soy Cutlets/ Patties

Still had some sprouts in my fridge and thought why not make them into cutlets. Didnt want to use regular potatoes for filling hence used soy kheema and to bind them I used oats powder. Added few spices and voila! the cutlets didnt let me down. They were soooooo delicious. You can also use soy chunks if you dont have soy kheema but see to it that it comes to about 1 cup. This is the first time I am preparing sweets in microwave and was quite excitied about it.Since weekend is approaching had to prepare sweets and my first trial was rava laddu. Usually laddus are favorites with both my hubby and jr but had to stand in front of hot stove roasting the rawa and grinding them to a fine powder and making laddus. What a hard work! Instant French Doughnuts

Again with a easy recipe. I made these with Day old French Bread  and It tasted like Doughnuts and hence the name. Very easy to prepare and under 15 - 20 minutes. Perfect for breakfast or snack or for kids lunch or snacks box.

French Bread                      8 slices(thick)

Sagu Biyyam Murukku/ Javaarisi murukku

This was last month's challenge for ICC but couldnt participate coz of chicken pox. But I wanted to make them coz they sounded soo crispy. So on Friday I made this Murukku and to be honest they were really really tasty. RA and jr loved them a lot and my son came asking for it again again " Amma give me muruk"

Moroccan Batbout/ Pita Bread

Moroccan food always fascinates me especially their cookies and breads. Their food is simple to make and this Batbout is similar to the pita bread and it was very easy to make and tasty too. You dont need oven to make this bread  and these can be made in tawa  itself. We had it with hummus and kheema curry and wow it was very tasty. Broccoli and Potato Bonda

Got bored of making the same old patato bonda. Give a new try with these broccoli and Potato Bonda.
Even kids who dislikes briccoli will love this crispy and Tasty bonda.



You need:
Broccoli and Potato Stuffing                        1/3rd recipe
Besan flour                                                  1/2cup
Rice Flour                                                    1/4cup
Chilli powder

Broccoli stuffed chappati

This is my second venture using the stuffing. Our simple stuffed chappati. With no more intro going ahead with the recipe



You need:
Wheat flour                                    1 1/4cup
Broccoli and potato stuffing            1/3rd recipe
Salt
Oil to fry

Preparation:
Make a soft dough with wheat flour, salt and water. Divide them into 7 equal parts.

Broccoli Soy Pulkas

This is my first recipe using the broccoli stuffing. I made Pulkas with Soy flour, wheat flour  and the stuffing.The pulkas were extremely soft and tasty. There was no bitterness from the broccoli and my son who dislikes green vegetables gobbeled up the pulkas fast. You can serve them on their own or serve it with raita.
This also makes a great picnic dish and also perfect for your kids lunch box

Kiwi and Sweet melon Salad

Again something new and simple to prepare with kiwis and sweet melon. The green colour was so refreshing and we all relished the salad after our dinner as dessert. Gothumai ravai Kheer/ Cracked wheat/Dalia Kheer


Gothumai ravai or Dalia or cracked wheat is something what we usually make upma for diabetic people. But here is the recipe for a delicious kheer and it is sinfully rich. This kheer is served compulsory in South Indian Muslim weddings. No wedding cuisine gets complete without this kheer and is usuallu topped with thakkali inippu pachadi (sweet tomato chutney) we call it either phirni or kanji.

Fatoush
